  • Co-Active Coaching Institute (CTI) has been called the “gold standard” of coaching by the Institute of Coaching, a Harvard Medical School affiliate that has linked the four cornerstones of the Co-Active Model to evidence-based scientific research. CTI was the first organization accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and is home to the seminal text in coach training programs worldwide.

    Very simply, Co-Active means “being in action together.” The Co-Active Coaching model asserts that the coach and coachee are equal collaborators in an empowered, co-created alliance designed to meet the coachee’s needs.

  • Exploratory sessions set a foundation for the coaching relationship. We will co-create the design of our alliance with you and get a baseline sense of where you are now and where this coaching relationship may serve you. Important to this conversation are several components: discussing confidentiality, learning about your preferences, sensitivities, and needs, gauging chemistry, and orienting you to coaching (e.g., requesting, homework, interactive tools, and more).

  • Human-centered design and design thinking might be popular with designers, but are approachable, productive tools that anyone may use, in any capacity or environment, professional or personal. These tools use iterative, interactive processes rooted in empathy, challenging assumptions, and testing and learning with small experiments and prototypes that clients will find highly usable, highly useful, and highly desirable. Bring your curiosity and the rest will follow. Expect to improve neuroplasticity, uncover new insights, and have interactive fun with a balance of independent reflection.

  • People seek out coaching for a myriad of reasons. Regardless of the reason, a coaching relationship fosters discovery, awareness, and choice, all of which play and games encourage. Play stimulates imagination, creativity, problem-solving abilities, emotional well-being, and connection in safe, consequence-free spaces. Play is healing in an otherwise volatile, uncertain, complex, and serious world. So, yeah, we take play seriously and give you permission to have some fun. *wink*

  • Yes. We can help you design your life in a way that makes clarity in your career choices approachable and actionable. We can also help you brush up on interviewing skills and other vehicles that get you not just the next move, but the next right move.

    We typically recommend a day and a half workshop to jumpstart your progress with biweekly follow up sessions to support you in your progress and drive accountability. It’s an interactive, fun, and engaging way of seeing your work life with new eyes relative to your whole life without it feeling like an invisible, lonely chore.

    To that point, while we offer career coaching, we take a “whole-person” approach, recognizing that work does not define a person and we are so much more than our jobs. Career is inevitably intertwined with all other areas of life, in no particular order: health and wellbeing, money and financial wellbeing, personal growth and learning, family, friends, love/partnership, fun and recreation, and geography and/or physical environment. When we rebalance one area (e.g., career), ultimately we are rebalancing the entire portfolio of one’s existence.

Appointments, Attendance, and Ante

  • To maintain clear expectations, accountability, and healthy boundaries, we require 24-hour notice of any scheduling updates, whether new, rescheduled, or canceled appointments, all of which are manageable exclusively through your self-service and mobile-friendly client portal at www.citizenandseeker.com/appointments. Appointments are a time commitment CiTiZEN+SEEKER makes to you exclusively for your benefit. You will be responsible for the full charge of the appointment should rescheduling or cancellation occur less than 24 hours prior to the appointment. If you arrive late, we will honor whatever time remains of the session, but will not extend it beyond the time scheduled; accordingly, consistent with this policy, partial appointments will be charged in full.

  • Click the Book an Appointment button at the top right of any page on citizenandseeker.com and follow the prompts:

    Choose an appointment type, the coach with whom you want to work (or “any available”), select a date and time from a list of available appointment slots.

    Enter your name, contact information, and all items on the scheduling form, including required terms of service.

    Enter payment information and a coupon or package code, if any.

    Clicking the confirmation button to schedule your appointment will advance you to a confirmation page with your appointment details. You will also receive a confirmation email with the appointment details and a calendar invite, as well as text reminders (you must confirm consent to receive text reminders).

  • Click the Book an Appointment button at the top right of any page on citizenandseeker.com and login into your client portal. You may also click Change/Cancel Appointment in the initial confirmation email you received after booking, which will bring you back to your confirmation page:

    Click Reschedule.

    Choose a new date and time and select an available appointment.

    Click Reschedule. You will be advanced to a confirmation page and receive an email with the details of your updated appointment.

    Keep in mind that you may only choose a new date and time. Scheduling limits may apply (e.g., 24-hour notice).

  • Click the Book an Appointment button at the top right of any page on citizenandseeker.com and login into your client portal. You may also click Change/Cancel Appointment in the initial confirmation email you received after booking, which will bring you back to your confirmation page:

    Click Cancel.

    Click Yes, cancel appointment. You will be advanced to the Client Scheduling Page with a message confirming the cancellation and receive a cancellation email to confirm.

    Keep in mind, scheduling limits may apply (e.g., 24-hour notice).

  • Coaching is an important investment you make in yourself, in your life, and in your world. It is much like personal training, getting an education, or meeting with a financial advisor to pursue your goals. Coaching does not qualify for medical or mental health insurance coverage; therefore, we do not work with any insurance carriers. To sand the edges off of your costs, we offer prepaid bundles and subscriptions that afford you a reduced rate and reward you for investing in yourself.

  • Discounts are available through prepaid and subscription packages with gratitude for your commitment:

    Citizen packages are prepaid bundles of appointments.

    Seeker subscriptions are subscriptions that renew on their respective billing cycles, either biweekly or monthly.

    Prepaid packages and subscriptions are non-refundable and non-transferrable, and expire 12 to 18 months from purchase, depending on the package. Refunds will only be issued if termination of services is not for cause.

  • A $10.00 service charge will be charged for any payments returned for any reason for special handling. Unresolved balances will result in a hold on appointment scheduling; when the balance is resolved, sessions may resume.

  • Why, yes — there is! We have taken care to design a client experience that makes calendaring, reminders, and attendance as automated and frictionless as possible. It’s up to you to bump it over the goal line and the app is the perfect companion for all of us to get more out of this adventure together.

    When you schedule an appointment, your confirmation page will have a QR code to take you to the app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

    The app shows all appointments, payment, and information associated with your account, whether booked through the app or on the web. The app allows you to manage scheduling, changes, cancellations, payment and notifications independently, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

    Appointments scheduled through the app or via QR code are assigned to your account and will show whether you use the app or log into your account with your computer.

    You can trust that your information is protected with a HIPAA-secure client portal username and password that YOU control.

Communication, Conduct, and Closure

  • CiTiZEN+SEEKER cannot ensure the confidentiality of any form of communication through electronic media, including email and text messages. Accordingly, all scheduling and cancellations are self-serve. If you prefer to communicate via email for topics outside of scheduling, we will oblige, noting the aforementioned disclaimer about confidentiality. While we try to return messages in a timely manner, we cannot guarantee immediate response and request that you do not use these methods of communication to discuss coaching content and/or request assistance for emergencies.

  • Yes. An emphatic YES. Respectful, professional conduct supports CiTiZEN+SEEKER’s mission, promotes productivity, and minimizes disputes. All parties deserve to be respected and treated consistently with this policy. CiTiZEN+SEEKER requires all parties to respect one another – coaches/providers, clients/customers, colleagues, vendors alike, and all others doing business with CiTiZEN+SEEKER.

    Prohibited conduct includes any discriminatory, harassing, hostile, offensive action or communication directed toward an individual because of that person’s protected status(es), including but not limited to race, color, religion, sex, gender, marital status, national origin or ancestry, age, disability, pregnancy, creed, citizenship status, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, genetic information or any other basis protected by law. This conduct is prohibited, even if it does not rise to the level of a legal violation, and may serve as grounds for terminating service for cause.

    Nevertheless, we believe in humans. We believe in you. And should a conduct issue arise, we will discuss it with you directly.

    If you believe that any CiTiZEN+SEEKER coach or affiliate has violated this Code of Conduct, please report it in writing to helloworld@citizenandseeker.com immediately.

  • While it is the desire of CiTiZEN+SEEKER to support clients on an ongoing basis according to their needs, our goal is to help clients build sustainable resilience, reach goals, and inspire their communities. We also recognize that coaching relationships require chemistry and understand if you’re not feeling it. Regardless of the reason for ending a coaching relationship, we want to fulfill our responsibilities to one another with appropriate discussion, notice, and process to achieve closure commensurate with the relationship.

    All of that said, a coaching relationship is not for a fixed term or definite period and may be terminated at will by either party, with or without cause, and without prior notice.

    CiTiZEN+SEEKER will not refund a remaining balance on the account unless we are unable to service the commitment logistically or if the termination of the coaching relationship is not-for-cause. If the client terminates the relationship, she/he/they forfeit any non-refundable, non-transferable payments already made to CiTiZEN+SEEKER.
